FCA Hockey Move to Virginia

FCA Hockey is Excited to Announce its Relocation to Lynchburg, Virginia

We, in the Mid-Atlantic Region, are excited to welcome FCA Hockey into Virginia as Rick and

Shannan Randazzo and their team relocate to Lynchburg, Virginia.

As Rick and team integrate into the Mid-Atlantic Region we are excited to come around them

and continue to the same mission, to reach EVERY Coach and Athlete. Rick’s leadership and

FCA Hockey’s rich history give us another avenue to do this. I am excited to see how FCA

Hockey integrates locally with our Lynchburg team, serves regionally and impacts globally!

Our Virginia State Director, Derrick Ellison, who was a key part of this process had this to say:

“VA FCA is thrilled to welcome Rick and Shannan Randazzo and the entire FCA Hockey staff

to the Commonwealth of Virginia! We are honored to be on their team moving forward and

excited to see how the Lord will continue to bless their faithful ministry to coaches and athletes

on the ice and beyond!”

This is an incredibly exciting time in our region as we grow our team and integrate all the

ministry of discipleship of hockey players into the Mid-Atlantic. Please join me in welcoming

Rick and his team to our team and read a little more about the history of FCA Hockey below.

Chris Rich

Vice-President of Field Ministry

Mid-Atlantic Region FCA

History of FCA Hockey

Founded in 2008 under the leadership of Rick and Shannan Randazzo, FCA Hockey has conducted

ministry activities primarily from a complex in Minnesota since 2018. It will now operate from

Lynchburg, Virginia, while still impacting around the world. “We now have the vision of carrying on the

ministry from Lynchburg,” Randazzo said. “It is a strong community with ties to the elite Liberty

University hockey teams.” Among other things, FCA Hockey expects to partner with the Liberty program

while also serving local hockey coaches, players, families and the worldwide hockey community. FCA

Hockey will conduct camps this summer in Lynchburg, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska and Texas.

FCA boys and girls teams are scheduled to compete in elite tournaments around the country this summer.

FCA Hockey will continue its ministry to professional, college and youth athletes as well as to coaches of

all levels. The 3rd Edition Hockey New Testament will be coming out in May with commentary and

testimonies from professional athletes and coaches as well as other elite athletes and coaches. FCA

Hockey has distributed 20,000 Bibles in its first two editions.

In addition to the New Testament, the Randazzo’s have produced and distributed thousands of the

devotional “Ten Traits of a Godly Man” and are finishing the “Ten Traits of a Godly Women” devotional.

The ministry will also continue its discipleship calls for players and coaches at all levels and is developing

online devotionals, and monthly podcasts.

FCA Hockey started bringing teams to Boston in 2011 to compete under the FCA banner. Since then, these

AAA teams have competed in and won many high-level tournaments. In 2023, FCA Hockey had 19 teams

compete under the umbrella of FCA Sports across the Midwest.

FCA Hockey was instrumental in starting “The Gathering” for Professional hockey players and their wives

to meet and worship the Lord to strengthen marriages.

FCA Hockey Advisors have assisted hundreds of families navigate the challenges of junior hockey (years between high school and college) as trusted advisors. Many Advisory players have gone on to play college hockey at the Division 1 and 3 level as well as for the Nationally ranked Liberty University ACHA Teams.

“We are excited about the expansion of our ministry this move will facilitate,” said Randazzo. “We look

forward to working with Tim Hill, Greater Lynchburg FCA Area Director, and Derrek Ellison, Virginia

FCA State Director, and all FCA colleagues throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and around the world.”

In addition to the Randazzo’s, the FCA Hockey staff includes Tim Jackman; Josh Freitas; Aaron

Randazzo; and Jackson Vercellono.
