Why is this important to you?
God’s word says, “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Serving is important to me because God calls on us to serve with selflessness. God ultimately served us by sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, so we should give back to the Lord for all He’s done for us by serving him and obeying His word. Not only are we called to serve God, but we are called to serve others. God is pleased when we do for others and sacrifice ourselves for a larger reason than just our own will and doing. Serving God as well as others has helped me strive to allow God’s light to shine through me and to exemplify his love and kindness.
Have you been involved with FCA or FCA Hockey in the past? What has been your experience with us? How has FCA Hockey impacted you?
I’ve been involved with FCA by attending multiple FCA events for the past 3 years. I’ve had an amazing experience with FCA hockey as it’s allowed me to want to dig deeper with not only with my hockey career, but most importantly with my walk with God. FCA hockey has had a massive impact on me as it has truly transformed me and taught me how to become a Godly man. God has brought amazing people in my life and has formed strong relationships that I would have never got to experience if I had never participated with FCA. God has ultimately showed me how to use being a hockey player as a platform to glorify His name and His kingdom.
What is your favorite scripture verse? Why is this important to you?
My favorite verse is Ephesians 3:20 which says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” This verse is important to me because it’s showed me how God’s power can work in our favor if we have him in our hearts and put Him above everything else. Trusting the Lord can be hard at times, but this verse has given me peace that God is almighty and has a plan for us that exceeds our expectations.
How did you hear about FCA Hockey?
I heard about FCA hockey through the 50 state tour and from my former coach Corey Toy.
